Why EAC is yet to review taxes on ‘sensitive goods’

Businesses in East Africa will have to wait longer to enjoy a new tariff regime on goods imported from outside the bloc, after the EAC member countries failed to meet the deadline for the review of the common external tariff (CET) for the second time.

The EAC Council of Ministers had given member states three additional months to agree on the implementation of a new CET after failing to meet the July 1, 2017 deadline. The revised deadline expired on September 30. Read more. Source | East African
