USIU-Africa and Goldman Sachs launch Phase II of the 10,000 Women Initiative

10,000 Women is a Goldman Sachs global initiative that fosters economic growth by providing women entrepreneurs around the world with a business and management education, mentoring and networking, and access to capital. The program is implemented in East Africa by the United States International University (USIU) Center for Executive and Entrepreneurship Development (CEED).

Last week, the Hub's investment team attended the launch of the second phase of the program that will see a select group of successful women entrepreneurs across East Africa receive further training, business advice and mentorship to expand their businesses. The program will run from January 2016 to June 2016 and will admit women in senior leadership positions in businesses that are at least 20 percent female-owned with 10 million to 500 million Kenya shillings in annual revenue.

USIU also runs a certificate course targeted at women entrepreneurs.
