The Nairobi-based African Trade Insurance Agency (ATI), has completed membership negotiations with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
ATI is a multilateral agency dedicated to providing risk finance and guarantees to investors,
Sindiso Ngwenya, the Chief Executive Officer of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), said in Dakar, the ECOWAS member states agreed to join the multilateral risk coverage facility, which would now expand its operations after becoming a pan-African financier.
“These trade facilities are being structured across Africa to help us move forward,” said Ngwenya, who heads the Lusaka-based regional trade body, currently in expansion discussion with other regional blocs,” he said. Read more. Source | East African Business Week
