The Hub's Leather Advisor to the Ministry of Trade and Industry recently assisted in the development of a Kenya Leather Park investor pack. The investor pack outlines opportunities at the Kenya Leather Park, in Machakos, and provides guidelines for those seeking to invest.
On August 10, the Ministry of Trade and Industry held a Leather Park Investors' breakfast to showcase the leather park progress and confirm the government's commitment to an expected ground breaking in September 2016.
''The launch of the Kenya Leather Park, Machakos will help close the significant deficit in regional demand for leather and leather products and promote the creation of at least 100,000 across the industry over a 10 year period. It will attract new investment and help restore the huge potential of the leather sector. The Hub is excited to continue to support the government of Kenya in delivering this project and we look forward to seeing its successful launch in the near future,'' said Kanini Mutooni, Hub’s Investment Director.
