Hub-supported Malagasy apparel companies established 47 business linkages at the recent Source Africa trade show in Cape Town, South Africa.
“Source Africa has been very useful to my business. I have been able to create new linkages and also gather feedback about my products from potential buyers,” said Caroline Randria from Mariana Limited of Madagascar.
USAID Southern Africa Deputy Mission Director Alonzo Wind officially open the trade show, which provided African textile and apparel manufacturers and suppliers with an opportunity to promote their latest products and services to key decision makers in the realm of sourcing. Trade show participants also gain from networking with one another and the larger industry.
“The tradeshow has provided us with a great opportunity to meet with buyers outside the office. We look forward to doing business with the contacts we made here,” said Eugene Havemann of Madagascar Clothing Manufactures.
In addition to supporting three Malagasy companies to attend, the Hub participated as an exhibitor, providing information about its programs and the African Growth and Opportunity Act to exhibitors, buyers and other attendees at the tradeshow. The trade show included a two-day trade exhibition, African country pavilions, informative business seminars, fashion shows and networking functions.
