On April 8, Food Trade East and Southern Africa (Food Trade ESA) a five-year trade enhancement and promotion program will open a Challenge Fund for innovative funding proposals from for-profit businesses that are active in the stable food value chains of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique and Malawi.
Those interested in participating in the Challenge Fund must propose projects that show regional impact and benefits for smallholder farmers. There will be a special consideration to women-owned companies whose solutions will be implemented in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Applications are due no later than midnight East Africa time, May 15, 2015
