Livestock play important roles in farming systems in developing countries, as it can be a source of food, draught power, bio-fertilizer and fuel, cash income and wealth accumulation. Despite its enormous livestock wealth, the country has not yet tapped it well. As various documents indicate, Ethiopia has over 52.1 m. cattle, 24.2 mln. sheep, 22.6 mln.
