Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday urged African governments to open their borders, trade among one another and reduce dependency on foreign aid. Speaking at the Pan African Parliament in Midrand, Mr Kenyatta told members of the house that the continent’s potential could be unleashed only if governments worked together and made it easier to trade.
His call for free movement comes after SA faced heavy criticisms from leaders on the continent for last month’s xenophobic attacks, affecting SA’s trade. It also comes as the government refuses to halt continuing raids under the controversial Operation Fiela. Read more. Source | BD Live
