Kenya is ranked the lowest in gender equality among those involved in trade in the East African Community region according to the latest study by TradeMark East Africa and UNCTAD.
Globally, Kenya is ranked 135th, Tanzania at 129th, Uganda at 121st, Burundi at 108th and Rwanda is ranked 84th.
The study reveals that access to credit from financial institutions remain limited with about 14 percent of women borrowing from financial institutions leaving family or friends as the most widespread source of loans. Read more. Source | Kenya Broadcasting Cooperation
