Kenya plans to double coffee production in five years

Kenya has put in place measures to double coffee production in the next five years so that it can increase output from the current 50,000 to 100,000 metric tonnes, a senior official said on Wednesday.Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Felix Koskei told a media briefing in Nairobi that Kenya aims to achieve the goal by increasing the coffee growing acreage as well as the access to high yielding coffee seeds to farmers.
