The permanent secretary in the ministry of trade and industry, Emmanuel Hategeka, has said AGOA provides a significant opportunity for Rwandan businesses to access the USA market.
Hategeka made the remarks today at the opening of USAID’s one-day specialty food workshop for export-ready, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Kigali.
“This workshop comes at a crucial time when Rwanda is looking for opportunities to increase exports in all sectors. Exporting matters because it provides the foreign capital needed to invest in our economy and grow our GDP,” Hategeka said.
He added that to raise exports from our food sector, “we need to explore all opportunities. To date, we have mainly exported our horticultural, agro-processed and other food exports to regional markets.” Read more. Source | Rwanda Focus
