The East Africa Trade and Investment Hub is once again participating in Texworld USA. Held in New York City, July 21-23, Texworld is the most important textiles and apparel trade show on the East Coast of the U.S. It is North America’s largest sourcing event for apparel fabric buyers, research and product development specialist, designers, merchandisers and overseas sourcing professionals. The event attracts many of the New York-based brands and retailers, making it an ideal venue to introduce East African companies and create valuable trade linkages.
The Hub is profiling factories from the region via the Origin Africa initiative aimed at changing perceptions about doing business in Africa. The Hub participates in a range of trade shows, including Texworld, as part of its overall mandate to increase trade from the region to the U.S. under the African Growth and Opportunity Act. Over the past six years, the Trade Hub has supported over $250 million in exports to the U.S.
