Market Assessment and Baseline Study of Staple Foods – Country Report Uganda. Staple Foods is one of the value chains which the Competitiveness and Trade Expansion (COMPETE) program, in collaboration with EAC, COMESA and EAGC has picked for purposes of enhancing economic growth and food security in East and Central Africa. This report covers eight selected staple foods, namely: maize, wheat, rice,sorghum, millet, beans, cassava and ground nuts, among others grown in Uganda.
