The Hub is sponsoring the 4th East Africa Farmers Federation (EAFF) Farmers Congress, to be held September 14 – 15 in Kampala, Uganda. The Congress will provide a platform to discuss new investments in agriculture; partnerships and innovations; regional market integration and the future role of farmer organizations.
The Hub is supporting six finalists from the East Africa Post-Harvest Technologies Competition 2017 (EAPTC 2017) to exhibit their innovations and network with Congress participants. Please stop by our booths to learn more about the innovations that earned them prize money and will contribute to stemming post-harvest losses that lead to food insecurity.
EAPTC 2017 selected three innovators to split $30,000 in seed capital to scale up and disseminate their technologies to reduce post-harvest food losses. Poor post-harvest practices currently result in the loss of 60 percent of all food that is produced in Africa.
This Congress is aligned to the Hub’s goal of deepening regional interaction, increasing competitiveness in agriculture value chains, promoting trade and facilitating investment in technology that drives trade. Check out technologies displayed at EAPTC 2017 here.
