Opportunities for export in specialty foods

M.Washburn_specialty_foods_Kenya_workshop.jpgOn February 2, the Hub, in partnership with the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), organized an African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) Specialty Foods Consultative Workshop. The purpose of the workshop was to introduce the Hub's Specialty Foods Export Promotion and Expansion Program to manufacturers in Kenya and to detail the processes for export through AGOA. Twenty specialty food companies attended.

Today’s meeting was an eye-opener that elaborated how Kenyan specialty foods exporters can utilize opportunities under AGOA. It demystified the myths and made me understand the requirements needed to export to the U.S market. The presentations were very informative and interactive,
