Partner Opportunity:Grand Challenges Africa Innovation Grants for African Innovators

The February 17, 2017 deadline for the first call for proposals for the Grand Challenges Africa Innovation Grants is fast approaching. Up to US$100,000 will be given in Innovation Seed Grants for two years to innovators in Africa with any level of experience, working in any discipline in colleges, universities, government laboratories, research institutions, non-governmental and non-profit organisations. Projects which show promising results will be eligible to apply for up to $1 million from AESA or the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.  The first call for proposals is focused on innovators seeking solutions and strategies: To reduce maternal, neonatal and child deaths in Africa For creative communication approaches to inspire African governments to fund R&D. GrowthAfrica's next 6-month acceleration programme in Kenya and Uganda is now open! GrowthAfrica is seeking ambitious, committed and innovative entrepreneurs who are looking to scale their business. The objective of the programme is to scale the ventures, make them investment ready and to develop entrepreneurial leadership. The programme consists of a 5-day boot camp followed by six 3-day workshops (on a monthly basis) where entrepreneurs are assisted to diagnose every aspect of their business and devise strategies to unlock their growth potential.
