Kenya Economic Report 2016 is a publication of the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (KIPPRA). It provides an analysis of Kenya’s recent macroeconomic performance, governance and social-economic performance.
While the economy has recorded improved macroeconomic stability, the report underscores the need for fiscal prudence, sustained investment in infrastructure, improved business environment and stability.
The report also discusses key underlying policy issues in agriculture, extractives sector, tourism, manufacturing, micro and small enterprises, trade, financial services, building and construction, as well as information and communication technology.
Generally, the report focuses on decentralization, and advocates for building on the gains already made at the county level, such as functional allocation of resources among others.
